BUILD. THINK. WRITE. CAPTURE.
Fifteen years of shipping software. Staff engineer by day, camera in hand by light, Telugu poet when the noise settles. Everything I've learned — and most of what I'm still learning — lives somewhere on this site.
/Engineering
Notes and essays on building software — AI, TypeScript, design systems, shipping things people use.
/Think
Mental models I actually use. Thinking tools that help when decisions are hard.
/Write
Telugu poetry, technical essays, personal essays. Writing is how I understand things.
/Capture
Professional photography. Portraits, street, nature — visual stories from Sydney and beyond.
“Good systems survive their builders. Great ones outlive their frameworks.”

The name
The first time I dropped into a terminal and typed /bin/ls, something clicked. Everything in Unix is a path. Commands aren't magic keywords — they're files living at addresses like /usr/bin/grep. The / meant root. It meant origin. It meant you could navigate anywhere from there.
Years later, when I needed a handle, /avi felt right. Not a brand. Not a username. A path — something you navigate to, something that has sub-paths, something with structure underneath.
This site is that structure. /engineering, /lens, /labs — each one a real destination, not just a category label.

Who
From Hyderabad to Sydney. Staff engineer with 15 years of experience building web systems, design systems, micro services, and micro frontends. Deep into AI — Claude Code, AI SDKs, applied AI in production. Also building productivity systems, wealth frameworks, and experimental apps on the side.
Father of two wonderful kids and husband to a lovely wife. A man with a camera lens telling visual stories. Writer who pens Telugu poetry and prose.
This site holds most of my engineering, AI, productivity notes and writings. Lens talks about my photography. Labs showcase my experiments.
